Mayoral Candidate Brian Paddick and London Assembly Candidate Nick Russell have thanked all those who supported them in yesterday's elections. 42,476 people in Barnet gave Brian one of their two votes in the contest for Mayor.

Across London Mike Tuffrey and Dee Doocey were re-elected to the London Assembly and Caroline Pidgeon was elected to join them. Newly re-elected Leader of the Liberal Democrat Assembly Group Mike Tuffrey said; "Rest assured that from City Hall we will be holding the new mayor firmly to account over the next four years.
