Thousands of pounds wasted by Barnet Council on un-used computers

Hundreds of brand new lap top computers are being wasted by Barnet Council. Last year, the Council spent almost £1.4 million on 1400 new computers. Over a year later, 100 of these are still un-used and in store. Yet the Tory Deputy Council leader has just signed an order to purchase 300 new machines at a cost of over £275,000

Liberal Democrat Leader Councillor Jack Cohen said "The Council is struggling to make ends meet. Spending like this should have been one of the first areas in which to make savings. The money would more than cover the wardens and sheltered housing scheme."
