Barnet Labour has no workable finance plan...

Of course there are huge pressures on local authorities across the country, but building up a huge debt is not a sustainable plan. Barnet Labour plan to increase your Council Tax up by 4.98% and have no other ideas about how to get this deficit under control. 

There is a real risk our council will be put into special measures and that auditors will determine the cuts the council has to make without input from local residents or councillors. 

Labour are just building on the financial mess they inherited from the Conservatives when they run the council, including the calamitous Capita contract. 

We need a plan to reduce this debt. Part of that needs to be a plan for growth. 

The Liberal Democrats are committed to helping small businesses, rejuvenating local economies and are taking progressive approaches to taxation. We are listening to local people and are placing communities at the heart of thinking.
