Barnet Lib Dems

We listen to local people

In the Summer of 2025, we set up a survey which has been distributed to over 6,000 residents across Barnet.

We have used the feedback to tailor the priorities we are standing for which are:

  • Tackling crime and helping people to feel safe in their neighbourhood by campaigning for more community police officers and fighting cuts to the Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
  • Fighting fly-tipping and litter by streamlining and monitoring the ways to report antisocial behaviour in Barnet.
  • Addressing issues with traffic management by insisting on transparency on parking fines and speed restrictions.
  • Campaigning to reduce utility bills, petitioning the government to do more to help families struggling with the Cost of Living.

We are a party of action

The Barnet Lib Dems are part of the London Lib Dem family. We have six Liberal Democrat Members of Parliament.

Luke Taylor MP (Spokesperson for London) has championed a new approach to tackling knife crime as a public health issue. Sarah Olney MP has campaigned for tougher action against Thames Water’s failures. Bobby Dean MP has been fighting for better NHS provision. Paul Kohler MP is campaigning for Restorative Justice, to put victims at the heart of the criminal justice system. And as education spokesperson Munira Wilson MP has been campaigning for better services for children with special educational needs. Ed Davey MP is the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, he champions liberal values at all levels, holding the government to account, challenging Donald Trump and Nigel Farage, whilst also supporting local residents in his Kingston constituency.

We care about you, your family and your neighbours.

From setting up community gardens, volunteering at foodbanks, running local scout / guide groups to managing night shelters, Liberal Democrats have a track record of caring about their communities and caring about other people. We do not seek to divide people, we seek to bring communities together and provide the tools to enable local people to live better lives.
