East Finchley
Julia Hines "I've helped the community in East Finchley since moving here 18 years ago. I was the chair of Age UK Barnet and still volunteer there. I am a board member of Grange Big Local, a trustee of Barnet Lone Parent Centre, and volunteer with Finchley Toy Library and Barnet Health Champions. I have helped to protect green space in Finchley, and now Brownswell Green. I've worked as both a doctor and lawyer. I understand the area and how Barnet Council works. I want to bring fresh ideas and energy as a councillor."
David Noble "I worked in finance for 14 years in both London and Paris. I've been an East Finchley resident since 2010 and have been running my small business from home since 2015. My kids study at the Archer Academy and my wife is a primary school teacher who has taught at local schools including Martin Primary School. I will listen to local residents and take action: I care about protecting our green spaces, and I want to see a safe neighbourhood with a vibrant high street. I will fight to make sure that East Finchley gets its share of resources from Barnet Council."
Sachin Patel "I live on The Grange estate in East Finchley where I have fought to protect vital green spaces in the area from overdevelopment. The disruption and anger caused by the poorly-planned A1000 cycle lane make me determined that we build a cycle network across the area that allows all road users to coexist in harmony. In my day job I advise public-sector organisations on strategy. I'm a keen runner, cyclist and dog-owner. I want to ensure that everyone feels safe on their doorstep, to promote green infrastructure, and to preserve what makes the area in special against the threat of over-development."
Finchley Church End
Daniel Fenesan "I'm Barnet born and bred, having lived in Finchley Church End for the last six years. I joined the team as I wanted to ensure his neighbours had a local voice. I worked on the Finchley Central Station development to get local amenities accessible to the whole community. I campaigned for Barnet to allocate more police resources to Station Road and Hervey Close when it became a crime hotspot. I am a passionate local advocate for better consultation across all issues. I'm also a Chartered Accountant, working within the redevelopment of brownfield sites for housing."
Sarah Hoyle "I have lived in Barnet for 11 years and very recently I was part of the team that set up Childs Hill Foodbank where I am the Chair of Trustees. I am passionate about job creation, better education and supporting low income families. The Liberal Democrats are the only local party who can challenge the Conservatives locally."
Dom Aubrey-Jones "I work locally as an NHS psychiatrist. I've put my experience of community campaigning to good use over the past year by spearheading several community action interventions in Finchley Church End. I am especially passionate about addressing the underlying environmental causes of mental illness, because I have seen first-hand the impact that the pandemic has had on people's mental health and wellbeing in Barnet. Our local authority and the national government are failing us."
West Finchley
Clareine Enderby "I have lived in Finchley for over ten years, with several years as trustee for Moss Hall school playcentre. As a mother of two school-aged children, I'm keen to see proper measures to clean the air in schools so staff and pupils can work and learn safely during the pandemic. I am a solicitor by profession, and in 2019 I stood as the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Hendon at the general election."
Cllr Gabriel Rozenberg "As a local parent in Finchley, I want to keep our area safe and our streets accessible to all. I've sat on Barnet Council for eight years in Hampstead Garden Suburb. But Finchley has always been my home and I would love to stand up and represent our community. Although our area has beautiful parks and excellent schools, we also have real problems, whether that's gang crime, streets that are dangerous to walk and cycle down, underfunding of vital public services, or a a town centre that doesn't reflect the quality of the neighbourhood. I want to help offer Finchley a fresh start."
Greg Ruback "I've been a Finchley resident for over 20 years and have been heavily involved in community work as a governor of a local school, volunteer and fundraiser for a popular local park. My day job as a lawyer has afforded me the opportunity to work on a range of pro-bono cases, and I've taught citizenship classes to secondary school pupils. I am a lifelong Londoner and was proud to be an Olympic Gamesmaker in 2012! As a dad to three kids, I'm passionate about fighting to protect the environment for future generations, preserving local parks and green spaces, investing in our high street and keeping standards high in local schools."
